On Tuesday's BBC 6 Music breakfast show, Phill Jupitus played 'Old Girl Back' from the new DAVE HOUSE album. In addition to having pretty much the best breakfast radio show in the UK, in another incarnation Mr Jupitus was the longtime tour support for Billy Bragg and thus obviously has great taste.
Dave House has "a wry eye for a lyric... the tracks I've listened to are all belters... moments of softness, moments of hardcore splendour... a very, very good album indeed" he said, which is really rather excellent. You can hear this in all its glory by going to the Phill Jupitus page on the 6 Music site to Listen Again - 'Old Girl Back' is about 1hr 10min in.

The TELLISON album is back from mastering. 'Contact, Contact' is (at the very least) the album of the summer, no question, don't argue, just you wait.
It's precisely 50 minutes of genuine excellence which you'll be able to pre-order very soon. Pre-orders will get some sort of worthwhile bonus, as well as the irrefutable kudos of having the album ahead of everyone else (who didn't pre-order). This week Tellison support Kubichek! at the 100 Club; next week they support I Was A Cub Scout at The Peel. Check the tour page for more. |
MY AWESOME COMPILATION and ORKO hit the road this week, ahead of the release of their limited edition split, in shops 26th March and available to pre-order now.
JACOB'S STORIES feature in Rock Midget's 27 Tips For 2007 this month. DAVE HOUSE has announced a bunch more shows to coincide with the release of his new album, including a launch show at Kingston's New Slang.
