Dave House / Get Cape Wear Cape Fly - Split (mix from DIP025)

6th January. New Year's News

Happy New Year and what not. Now everything is getting somewhat back to normal, its time to fill you in and what we've been doing for the last couple of weeks or so...

what a lovely couple

The DAVE HOUSE / GET CAPE WEAR CAPE FLY split release: Limited edition, 500 copies and that's it, white vinyl split 10". Featuring the brand new Dave House pop classic 'Shiver', Get Cape's 'Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager Part 1' (including backing vocals recorded in the Gravity / Banquet Records kitchen!), Dave House covering Get Cape's 'A Song For' and Get Cape covering Dave's 'Weeknights and Weekends'. Available to pre-order NOW; in a quality store near you from 30th January, with an unmissable launch gig at The Peel on the same day. A Gravity DIP / BSM release.

STOP PRESS - three page feature on Dave House, Get Cape and Frank Turner in the February issue of ROCK SOUND, out now

It's taken the best part of a year to make the CADILLAC BLINDSIDE cd happen, but it's been worth it. Licensed from Fueled By Ramen (Fall Out Boy, Panic! In The Disco) this is a retrospective featuring every song the Minneapolis band recorded for the label. New artwork, fantastic liner notes written specially for this release by the band AND a brand new, unreleased song exclusive to this release. Available from fine retailers from 30th January.

METRONOMES' 'Canoe' is Al from Stapleton's follow-up to the critically acclaimed and much-loved 'Travel Sports'. It's a definite progression, with improved production qualities and the first vocals on a Metronomes album, though still retains its DIY charm. Available to order now.

January also sees Tellison, Avast!, Orko and Jacob's Stories play five Scottish shows in five days at the end of the month - see the Tour Dates page for details. Avast! are half of Stapleton (Andy and Nico) with added Donald on drums. They're reminiscent of Spy Versus Spy / Braid and their record should be out later this year. Jacob's Stories' split with Metronomes is in a discerning store near you now and Tellison's 'Reader' 7" will be available from those same retailers from 6th Feb.

Orko recently won the Hundred Reasons Singles Club competition to get a track on HR's Singles Club 3. Having heard their self recorded album, we were so impressed we jumped at the chance to release their album. Work on "Creating Short Fiction" is well underway and it'll be out very soon indeed

And finally, we're in the process of putting together the GDIP sampler. 22 tracks, including BRAND NEW songs from Capdown, The Steal, Tellison, Metronomes and Fires (ex-Instruction), plus tracks from Stapleton, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Jacob's Stories, Orko, Avast! and pretty much every band we've ever worked with. More on that in the coming months...
